Something Like A Biography

Three of Katherine's nonfiction books are available on Amazon: Dark Flight: The Hunt for the Tucson Ring Meteorite; The World Came to Tucson: A Personal Journey through the Greatest Gem & Mineral Show on Earth [Revised edition]; and Nursing Homes: The right Questions.

Her urban fantasy novel Hunters: the nonfiction, Dancing with the Dead: The natural History of Tucson: her memoir, Mysteries of a Quiet Life; a cookbook, Tucson Granny's Comfort Food and a short essays will soon be available on her blog, still in progress.

4th generation Californian with a background in news photography. She has worked as a reporter for the Paris edition of the Chicago Tribune and the San Fransisco Call Bulletin. She has also worked as a Ringling Brothers Circus roustabout; proprietor of a floating crap game in New York City; an opal miner in Australia, and a bartender in Casablanca. She is still working towards her lifelong goal of becoming a street corner demagogue.

Currently she divides her time between her spirtual home on the northeast of California; Los Angeles circa 1976, and her home in comfortable exile in the desert between Tucson and the Back of Beyond, indulging three eccentric house cats. Her hobbies include writing, collecting and oddities, searching junk stores and yard sales for treasure maps, and watching the skies.
